    Thanks Ed.
    It may be good to let users know that F keys can be re-programmed in System Preferences -> Keyboard&Mouse, then click on Keyboard Shortcuts. I have my laptop’s Dashboard set to F8 so that it can be invoked with a single keystroke (without any modifier) just like my desktop setup.
