The Sound of New, Redux

Allen found a really cool song that I love (read the post below), but I did some searching and found out that the song Allen found was for 10.3. I found the 10.4 installer music here)
I also found the installer music for 10.0-10.2 here (again, clicking the link will launch the iTunes Store on your computer.
I hope this music gives you that new computer feeling as Allen explained below. Now, if I can just get Apple to use my music for the Leopard installer….
The iPhone is great in the states if you can live with ATT ..
But Att tend to be spotty at best Nation-wide …. but Verizon is a bit better coverage wise
Using the iPhone internationally even just making call on wifi seems a good choice but ….. users report racking up huge data charges as the iPhone does auto checks … We are talking about hundreds of dollars accumulated over a weekend trip..
Ok heart of the matter …….
I am a photographer & travel quite a bit in the States & Canada no worries really … though the roaming in Canada if you don’t have a plan gets to be a bit pricey bit were are in the ¢ per min not the u$s per minute
Internationally easy to stay in touch with clients on the road to a point … with the MacBook multiple im clients iChat , Yahoo Messenger , MSN Messenger , Skype , eMail …google yahoo & .mac ….
Yea there are wifi phone choices skype & other Voice over IP choices I have even tried some of the wifi phones they are ok but some thing else to carry & that is all they do ….
But internationally standard Mobile Phone is a real hassle , except for Peru I don’t travel to the same country on a regular bases , most of the world is GSM but companies don’t have enough joint operating agreements …
If I was going to the same country routinely no real issue couple of GSM phones … but I don’t hit the same countries over & over again .
I travel mostly in the Americas the one thing that is standard in just about every hotel is 802.11g
I am not just talking about the posh places but hotels & inns that charge u$s 5-15 have wifi …. & a isp connection that is much faster then my 1500 k/bs Verizon DSL at home in the states …
If there is a VOIP application for the Touch this could be huge .. an expanded Adium or better iChat application with Skype could be huge Really über über über über Über Really über über über über Über HUGE ……..
This would go a long way to solving my last communication issues … perfect no but a bit of a solution
Not to mention the the world wide travellers communication tool , The lonelyplanet.com thorntree forum is full of question of this sort … there are some Wifi pda’s sub notebook but the Laptop is most economical & versatile choice ….. if you could up load your full rez jpegs to iphoto via your iTouch hmmm …
Not to mention set Apple up as a major VOIP … think about how many people would sign up for a mac account if you could also get phone calls . ….
Steve did mention a bit ago some changes at .mac were coming …
But can you send email with an iPod Touch? The video specifies that the keypad comes into view when on the URL field, but no mention is made of being able to enter text anywhere else. One would think that if this iPod could be used for email, that that fact would be mentioned.
World traveler here, I use the Dell Axim with Windows mobile for Yahoo Voice and Skype, works very well, I have local phone numbers on multiple continents; however, I would unload the Axim on eBay in a heartbeat if I could get Skype and Yahoo voice on the iPod touch. You can forget cell phone plans, what a giant rip off! I don’t want to have to answer my phone unless I am having coffee anyway, thats what voice mail is for. Please get to work on it folks!
